Contacts

The importance of having contacts here, there and abroad.

1) Death. Kinda sucks if you die, but sucks even more if you don't get buried or cremated properly. You just become decay in some lonely corner of the globe.

2) Major Illness. Radiation poisoning = cancer = uhm refer to above.

3) Major Mental Illness (the minor ones too) - need someone to talk to? Of course you do.

4) Information! I mean I am usually an excellent researcher, frequent email-er and information bank for all occasions, but every now and then you get the rare thing you don't know. And of course everyone else in the world is not as good as using Google as they should be.

5) Getting excited. Not that you need help with getting excited, but getting in contact with your contact usually involves you thinking about your trip, which in turn gets you excited about the trip. Right?
